<p>Water-powered vehicles have the potential to significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions and air pollution. When hydrogen is used in a fuel cell, the only byproduct is water. This eliminates the emissions of carbon dioxide, nitrogen oxides, particulate matter, and other pollutants associated with conventional gasoline engines.</p>
<li><b>Steam methane reforming (SMR):</b> SMR is a widely used process for producing hydrogen from natural gas. While it is relatively inexpensive, it produces carbon dioxide as a byproduct.</li>
